Vashti is despondent over her lack of artistic talent, but through some helpful encouragement from her teacher, Vashti learns that even a dot can be full of artistic expression.

Simple, yet effective illustrations. A wonderful story to share with those who feel they are "bad" at art. Could be used for storytime (ages 4-5) or a classroom read-aloud (grades K-2).

I had heard of Dot day but I had never read the book that it's based on.

I really enjoyed it! Simple, short and sweet!

Shows children that they can make their mark and become inspired. Great message, especially for students at the beginning of the year.

I love how this and another Peter Reynolds book Ish encourage kids to make art, even if they think they can't.
