A competently written novel with an overly slow opening and boring characters. It took me a while to work out what the book was about, or even that it was about anything at all (it’s apex predators and the dark side of human nature). There’s some plot with a conspiracy/deception over something which turns out to be something that’s practised quite openly and the protagonist’s involvement was unnecessary and ridiculous.
