Found the style of writing very strange but was never bored.

Finding out from the ‘afterword’ that the novel is a few short stories melded together totally made sense. It felt like an anthology movie where everyone remembers the good vignette but forgets the others.

I loved the concept of a town memorising literature; every chapter per person.

Literature will never die, even when the books are burned.

I'm not rating this book because I don't know what to rate it yet. I had to read this novel for class, which can usually mar the enjoyment, but not necessarily for me. This book was just..weird?? I had a lot of questions and a lot of them are left up in the air. The ending was abrupt and kinda confusing. The writing was good, it just didn't engage me in the story, and the premise was quite interesting, but it was pretty slow-paced for how short a book it is. It does raise some important questions about society and the themes are very relevant today, which I appreciated seeing. I don't really know how to review this book..I just think that people should try it out, if it's not your cup of tea, that's alright, it wasn't mine, but it's an interesting concept so it should be given a chance.
