Ella James is a new to me author. These books were stunning. Forbidden MM romance. Vance & Luke had a random first meeting. A meeting that would haunt them both forever. Sex scenes were steamy AF. Many emotional twist that left me wanting more. Narrated by Iggy Toma & Aiden Snow.

Ellis James knows how to write some hard subject matter. The way she addresses sexuality and religion is very well done. The relationship between Luke and Vance is an interesting one. They have their fair share of angst with their complicated relationship. This ending was a long time coming for them, and I love it for them. I especially love Vance. He's such a sweetheart. And, in the end, it was so heartwarming all the support Luke wasn't sure he would ever have. This is an easy and very enjoyable read for sure.

God this book killed me (in a good way.)
Spoiler "The pastor and the artist (...) Sky and Rayne" These two guys went through so much in these books, but it all served to help them fall even harder for each other. I'm so happy Luke was able to come out, even if they were outed. His message to the world after they were outed was such a tearjerker. I'm so excited to see more of Evermore being a queer-inclusive church. I'm definitely a bit worried about what they will be put through in book 3, post HFN, but I won't be able to resist getting more time with these two characters. I'll be thinking about them for a while.

Again, full review will be posted on 3rd book.

Narration is fantastic!!

Luke was infuriating and yet my heart continuously hurt for him. He basically treated Vance the way he felt he deserved to be treated. He thought so very little of himself and yet and burned for Vance. I could tell he hated himself for the things he put Vance through. He was wicked in some ways…

But Vance saw through Luke in ways no one else ever had. He loved so effortlessly and selflessly. He saw Luke for the scared little boy that felt invisible and unlovable. Vance definitely put up with too much but he gave of himself freely. His heart was connected to Luke without strings.

So much happens in this book. Between Luke getting sick and Vance’s accident, there is a lot of pain and fear. But these events solidified their connection. They were irrevocably tied to the other. There was no going back.

OTT sex and drama. I enjoyed it so much more than the first book.

A lovely ending to the duo. There are some twists and turns that make you unsure of the HEA but it happens, which is what I wanted. It was very sweet. I would recommend this duo to anyone interested in MM. Also the sexy time is done very well. Not super smutty but still enough smut for someone who enjoys that.

Oh my god this book tore me apart, slapped a bandaid on the wound, and then ripped my heart to shreds! So many ups and downs, so many heart wrenching moments.

I’m still not fully happy with Luke and I do think Vance deserves better but I really love them together. Their chemistry is so tangible and the smut! HOT. A lot of character development happens in this one along with a lot of heart break.

If you’re looking for a series that will take your heart on an emotional roller coaster ride then definitely read this!

“I see how bad you don’t want me. You don’t want me hard enough to hurt.”

Adore is book two of the On My Knees series by Ella James. This book picks up right where we left off with Luke and Rayne. Book two is quite the journey with so many ups and downs.

“Look for me in your dreams, Rayne. I’ll be the warm light. I’ll be holding you together.”

This book was so emotional but the way these two supported and took care of each other is everything. So much happens in book two, it’s unreal. It will leave you hanging onto the end of your seat at certain points.

“He loves you,” she says quietly, “And I love him. If he’s yours, he’s mine.”

Acceptance is such an important factor. A mother’s love knows no bounds. We don’t get a lot of Luke’s mom but I feel like what we get is just right.

“I wanted to fucking fix you.”
“You did fix me. Every time I opened my eyes…you were all I wanted.”

I enjoyed this book more than book one, it’s longer and we get more relationship development and character growth.

“I love you so much, Vance Rayne. You’re my happy ending, baby. Not the pervert kind. That, too.”

Now to book three to tie up this series.

“Rayne belongs in the Sky. You realize that, right?”

Happy Reading
