It’s hard to find a flaw with this book. The characters are so convincingly human; it feels almost jarring. I found myself regularly expecting something of a character, only for them to take me by surprise. It made for a highly engaging read which, when you consider the historical accuracy, makes for a masterpiece.

The story was written in short pieces that became chapters when bound into book form. The 5 books are one long legend of Musashi, and the book does not have a resolution nor a complete character arc.  It's just the first part of a story that is not published in it's original form. They also sell this story in one big volume.  It's the same story.

I'm onto book 2, and I recommend you only read this if you are planning to read all 5.
