I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the concept of this "elseworld" almost afterlife feeling and the talking dog! (Cause who doesn't love talking dogs?) I thought the backwards aging was the weirdest yet most interesting part of the book and the love story is so sweet <3. Currently reading another of her books because I loved this one so much!

Truly amazing book. I was just in LOVE with it. Couldn't put it down. And I used to hate reading, but this book got me back into loving books. You people have got to read it.

i did have high hopes for this as tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow is one of my favourite books, however, it was not good. it was written as if zevin was trying to cram as many events and facts about elsewhere as possible in 270 pages and lots of it just did not make sense, especially liz and owen's romance. it was also impossible to sympathise with liz. i understand that she had just died and she was mourning her life but god i hated her.

another factor was the predictability of it. now i don't fancy myself a fortune teller by any means but i just knew that in the scene when the two corny main characters were arguing, they were going to kiss. and of course, owen's wife was absolutely fine with it, because writing with any real emotional maturity and complexity is not to be found in this book.

okay i feel a little mean now. just bear in mind that this was 2005 and zevin has improved drastically since.
