The story of Mel and Riley background. Riley is the sister to Kate and this is another mafia kidnapping story because Mel want revenge on his brother killer aka her new brother in law shocking not really but he found the best next thing to take away from that family someone that they love. But once again that table gets turn on Mel because they started falling for each other. But they can’t just live happy never after can they nope. Mel sent Riley back home to protect her but she don’t like how he throw her at like trash but the she came to found out why and that made her more piss off at him. But like any good story it can change at any point and it did when Riley found something that changed everything in Mel life. #bookstagram #books #bookworm #booklover #bookish #bookaddict #bookaholic #bookblogging #booktok #igreads #insttabooks #booksbookboooks #kindlepaperwhite #bookobsessed #bookstagrammer #fivestarread

This was my least favorite novel in this series. It was very much relationship/spice oriented and not as plot driven as the others were. But it still had some good twists that make me look forward to the next novel in this series.

I'm starting to notice a recurring pattern across these books that links them together.

Compared to the previous two, this book surpassed my expectations significantly. While the main couple wasn't my favorite, the writing was notably stronger, so this was my favorite book out of the three I’ve read so far. One thing for sure, I appreciated the improved pace and handling of intimate scenes, so much so that Malek's portrayal left me a bit attracted to him.

However, I find it slightly irksome that the writing style and pacing remains unchanged throughout. Once again, the actual plot managed to keep me engaged. I wish the author would introduce some variety; although the plotting is exceptional, it feels as though she keeps to a predetermined structure as I’ve mentioned in other book reviews in this series.

The characters, on the other hand, are exceptional. Spider, in particular, has become one of my favorites, even from the previous book I wanted him. Despite his rough exterior, he reveals himself to be a compassionate really striking individual with a lot of character. Although his actions towards the end were annoying and weird to me, his underlying goodness shines through. I'm excited for the final book in this series, especially if it focuses on him and the new female character introduced in the end. It's refreshing to see the narrative shift away from themes of kidnapping and power struggles, I hope so at least. Spider strikes me as someone who would thrive in a relationship with a strong, more dominant woman that leads on top in the bedroom and puts him to a groaning mess.

This series has me completely whipped. I might even consider jumping into another series by Geissinger after this.

Geissinger's evolution as a writer throughout these books is truly impressive. I'm so taken with her growth that I'm considering purchasing special edition covers to display proudly on my bookshelves at home.

So. I absolutely hated the FMC. I think authors try to make characters “quirky” and they just come across as weird and annoying.
The romance was also odd. And I swear to Christ, I hate that characters have sex upon sex and then a month afterwards they are *shocked* that there is potentially a pregnancy. Y’all. We all know how babies get here, correct!?
Anywho, after listening to Declan’s story, this was a let down. I’m going to finish the series but 😒 I don’t hardly want to.
