I somehow forgot how much I love Rebecca Stead. I identified so much with Bea! Yay, positive representation of therapy. And obviously, a happy ending for the LGBT parent (despite a small bigot hiccup).

I *loved* this mid grade book. The characters feel so real that you could almost touch them. I was truly sorry when the book was over.

I should know better by now than to read certain books while at the front desk because inevitably they will make me cry. This is one of those books, and they're mostly happy tears with a little bit of sadness because life. I love Rebecca Stead's writing and the way she makes her worlds so vivid and realistic. This book is excellent.

Rebecca Stead is back at it again. She's one of those authors who I read every new release sight unseen. I went into this one totally cold and loved it. At one point, it started to feel a little too convenient, but then she didn't hesitate to muddy the waters again before the end. I still think When You Trap a Tiger is my Newbery pick, but this one will definitely be in the conversation.

I’m pretty sure I cried through the entire second half. This little book had so much good stuff packed into about anxiety and feelings, forgiveness, acceptance and family. It was so simply said and yet, it was said in such a beautiful way through incredible story telling. This one will stay with me for a very long time.
