3.5 stars. Plot was pretty standard, but I didn’t mind the main relationship even with the instalove, and I could tell the author put a lot of thought into the world itself. It also felt culturally rich! I appreciated that. (Mammoth fight scene was stupid though I started giggling)

DNF at page 40. I have little idea of what is going on. The writing is all over the place with its lengthy descriptions and constant backstory plug-ins. I'm disappointed, because this story could have been really interesting.

Pretty solid read. I really liked our main characters. There is so much chemistry between them! It takes a while to get into the story, but it's so worth it!
There was a lot happening at the end, but I really liked the world building and the different details of the world from most western typical stories. We need more diverse YA fantasy novels! I found some similarities with EITA - mainly the two POV, evil female warrior, reluctant heroes. However, I am living for it. I am excited for the next book!

I went nearly half way through and still wasn't invested. I really couldn't figure out the point of the plot. It went on without aim and I didn't enjoy any of the characters.
