"If Kou is still wandering the streets at night, we'll be there to light his way out."

"Listen, if you think your loss is too big for anything to fill... then don't fill it with one thing. Gather ten or even a hundred small things. Let those be the reasons to keep going!"

This volume is exactly why it's called Blue Spring Ride. Sensei was saying it's something like "youth + ride" (on the first volume) but I see it as the literal heartwrenching ride; all about heartbreaks when it should be full of love and new beginnings because it's spring; nevertheless, it's indeed a youthful ride. We aren't youth if we don't try harder to fight back. Where do we use our energies, right? And yes, I cried—the monologues are just so touching that all I can do is hug my pillow and sob while trying to continue reading just to cry even more. By the way, why do I feel excited with the appearance of Toma?

Ao Haru Ride, Vol. 04
by Io Sakisaka

3/5 stars

Kou thought that he no longer has a purpose to study. His grade is failing and it makes everyone worry. When Kominato knows about it, he encouraged the other, Yoshioka, Yuri, and Murao to study together at Kou's place. At first, Kou really didn't has any spirit to study. But then, when he saw Kominato looks so close to Yoshioka, he decided to join. Duh, Kou. Just admit that you still have a feeling for her! Geez.

Knowing there's something troubling Kou about the study, Yoshioka decides to confront him. After that, finally she know about Kou's reason. That day, she finally got a chance to get closer with Kou. Seeing his vulnerable side ofc would be so meaningful.

Long story short, all of the got listed in top 100 students in school. At the end, they decides to spend their summer together and going to the festival. In there, Yuri tried her best to win Kou over. To some extent, it makes Yoshioka feels a little bit jealous.

Oh well, we shouldn't forget about Touma's appearance. I have a strong feeling that he will be with Yuri at the end. Don't know If it's true, I couldn't accept it. Sigh.
