It didn't have the best plot or mystery, just too many strings pulled without satisfaction results. I liked Will Robie watching out for Decker was great but also distracting as well. But at this point, I just love following Amos Decker's quirky personality, I could pretty much over look anything.

Solid fun read. Well developed characters, intricately woven plot, fun mystery to solve.
I have a vague sense of disappointment in this book. Maybe this is why Baldacci seems to burn out on his series after 5 books or so. I still really like Jamison and Decker as partners and think there is more to explore in their relationship but this book didn't go there.
It had a lot of compelling and interesting elements that never really gelled into a whole, rather they seemed to get in the way of each other and make the narrative feel overly complicated and disjointed. I never really got swept up in any narrative drive, which is something Baldacci is usually very good at. Even the unexpected addition of Robie/Reel couldn't juice this thriller into overdrive.

Amos’ memory is no longer the focal point of these books and I miss that. Still a good read though.
Thought this was a so-so book, which is surprising since I believe I’ve liked all of them so far. But, it had a zillion characters in it which I found hard to keep up with, and my damn eBook software on the iPad stopped doing searches, so I couldn’t look them up.
Decker and his sidekick Alex Jameson go to North Dakota because the FBI sent them there to investigate a murder. They don’t know why they were being sent. While they are there, about 8 other people are murdered in two plots, one a love story gone bad, the other an international terrorist plot with American participants. Needless to say all the murders were solved
