Essentially a Sherlock Holmes story set in an Asian-inspired future, right down to the drug addiction. Entertaining, but without the space setting it doesn't do anything new as a mystery.
Moderate: Drug use, Addiction, Death, and Murder
Minor: Trafficking and War

A story featuring an abrasive female detective with secrets and a past combined with a traumatized, tea brewing sentient space ship was the gender-bent Sherlock Holmes retelling I never knew I needed in my life! I want to kick myself for leaving this to gather dust on my Kindle for years. I loved that it was a space opera inspired by Vietnamese culture and that the Watson character in this retelling was a shipmind (aka sentient space ship)! I need to read more books set in this universe for the sole reason that I want to know more about the shipminds and how they came to be.
Moderate: Abandonment, Drug use, Murder, and War
