I really liked the first half of the book. It got totally weird when Rose left. I saw other reviews that were very anti Sylvie and William, but I thought the real betrayal (besides Rose) was Julia. She used and then abandoned her husband. She, who had fiercely loved her sisters, raised her daughter with no family, lying to her for her whole life.
The other annoying part was all of the telling, not showing, done by the author.

Oh what a beautiful heartbreaking story. This is so full of complicated family and relationship drama, yet it’s so beautiful in a really nostalgic way. Wasn’t exactly a 5 star because WHAT WAS THAT ENDING??? I needed soooo much more, the ending seemed very abrupt. If i got maybe 10 more pages this would’ve been a 5 star read for sure

What a beautiful book, my god. I will be thinking about this book forever. The themes were beautifully explored. The characters are so flawed and powerful in their own right. I hope the Padavano sisters find the time they did not have in another life
