I truly have no words. All I can say is this was emotional, haunting, and absolutely beautiful. The writing was poetic, and it was one of the instances the audiobook did it justice. In the short time it took to listen to the audiobook, it made me feel so much.

This book broke my heart. I don’t think there is anything else that can be said.

FINALLY, a piece since Shaw's Pygmalion that confronts the problematic nature of the myth and seeks to give the characters their just deserves.

Honestly, Miller is at her best when she doesn’t have time to meander. Her prose has gotten better since this, yes, but I prefer the tighter story.

Galatea is a short but very impactful story based on the myth of Pygmalion. This book shows the aftermath of this myth showing an artist falling in love with his work. Galatea is a strong character who loves her daughter and is being mistreated by her sculptor husband. Galatea is much better off as a human being in my opinion and by the end, I was happy to see her getting away from her husband and trying to see her daughter again. This story was very impactful despite its length and is going to stick with me for a long time.
