This particular story had so much potential, there was actually mystery throughout the plot, there was even a bit of jeopardy but I just feel like it wasn't capitalised on. Everything was solved way too quickly! It's so frustrating, one chapter there is conflict and the next, it's solved. The only lingering issues come with the romance plot and even then, you know it won't last. The descriptions are getting very repetitive, I know there are only so many ways you can describe the same thing but throughout this series the angel wings are only described one way, it's just boring. I really hope the ending of this story is addressed in the next book, it can't be left without an explanation but somehow I can see it just being forgotten about, we shall see.

Two of the Beautiful Dead have been helped by Darina to solve the mystery surrounding their death. Now it is Summer's turn. Her case is going to be much harder to solve than the previous two because she was shot down in a seemingly random act of violence at the local mall. The more Darina looks into possible suspects, however, the scarier things become for her. Add to that a disintegrating relationship with her Beautiful Dead boyfriend and pressure to put together a concert tribute for Summer, and Darina is up to her ears in stress.
Can I say how awesome it is to have this whole series ready for reading? No waiting and waiting for the next book. Which is good, because it is a REALLY good series. Summer's story was powerful. I genuinely had no idea where the story was going or who Darina was going to go talk to next. Hunter's character changed dramatically in this story, though I can't really say how without giving away plot. But it definitely caught me off guard, as well as a few other major plot points. Eden Maguire is seamlessly tying together the lives of her Beautiful Dead and the townspeople. As much as I'm not ready to say goodbye to Phoenix, his book is up next and I can't wait to read it!

So, while my copy of Summer was coming in the mail, I quickly re-read Arizona to catch myself up. And I found that while I absolutely love these books when I first read them, rereading them it's as great. Maybe because I already know the mystery, so it's not as entertaining and I'm not enthralled, or maybe because the writing isn't very good...
But when I finally did read Summer last night, I couldn't put it down! These books, while still dealing with the popular Paranormal romance stuff, are done in a unique way. I like the combination of mystery and paranormalcy, even as I want to beat sense into Darina.
The twist and turns were more exciting, and more intense, than I anticipated, and I was quite pleased. The ending was hurried, however, and I wished we could have seen more of Summer's reconciliation with it all. I hope she's at peace... you don't really get a clear understanding (or maybe I read it too fast).
And is it just me, or is Eden Maguire's writing getting better with each book? Good for her.

This book had unexpected twists and turns. I hated it when Logan died it was painful.
Again Hunter really surprised me and i have a feeling the he is hiding something, nevertheless you can see that he is like a father (a strict one) and its shocking to find him complementing Darina.
Nice plot and lovely....oooo before i forget lemme stress this again.I LOVE PHOENIX.
