Emma St. Clair has expertly delivered a fantastic royal romcom! I jumped into this story without reading book 1 (gasp! I know… I know…) and thoroughly enjoyed this standalone!

Prince Phillip, a statistics guy who always, I repeat always, plays by the rules has used a handful of spreadsheets, an algorithm and rubric to pinpoint the love of his life, with a little help from his friend and he’s never even met her. Seriously, St. Clair is the queen of dreaming up a scenario such as this. She kicks off the book with a bang, drawing readers right into Phillip’s serious, rule-following character and his desperate need for a wife, and future queen, ASAP. I loved Phillip. His character truly surprised me and I enjoyed seeing him grow and develop throughout this story.

Alessia is Phillip’s perfect match, or so his rubric says. And it’s right! She’s a great FMC who is easy to identify with, down-to-earth and has the sweetest, oldest support system. Her broken past got right to my heart and witnessing her dream, then step away from an ordinary life into the role of future queen was so fun! Her Italian hometown setting was probably my favorite of the two settings in this story; I loved it more than the palace at Elsinore! It had all the fun small-town vibes, was imaginary eye-candy and oh, the seaside was simply perfection!

This hilarious, devourable story was well done. There was a bit of secret identity, forced proximity, rags-to-riches and secret crush all tied together. It had a hint of spice, loads of desire, delicious attraction and definite swoon, but remained clean without explicit scenes. I loved it all! Emma St. Clair is, and probably always will be, one of my favorite romcom authors because she puts so much heart and relatability into her characters while simultaneously making me laugh and feel all.the.feelings. Reading her alternating FMC and MMC POV made reading this story fun and highly entertaining.

I look forward to going back and reading book 1 (I must know more about the attack swans!) and I can’t wait for others to come in this series and have a chance to get reacquainted with all the wonderful characters in this story. A definite recommendation from me.

*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary e-copy of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own and I was not required to post a positive review.

It's been so delightful to hand out with the royal family again. Royal Gone Rogue is the 2nd title in Emma's Sweet Royal RomCom series. You can jump right in with book two ... or you can read book one , Royally Rearranged, then start book two. Yes, you will have hints of the first book's storyline and definitely character appearances. But the focus is on the wonderful robo-roll, Prince Phillip. Be still my heart! It's cute, funny, sweet, and dear. I found it hard to put down. I hope there's more in this series!

Reviewed from an eArc. Thank you, Emma!

Phillip has realized that all work and no love has made for a very full wife. So he devises the perfect methodical plan to find a wife. The catch is that he is a prince on the verge of becoming King, so whoever he finds will need to be okay with becoming a queen.

He sets off to a small Italian village to pursue the woman fitting his criteria while his brother covers for him back at court. But when he arrives, Alessia is more than he bargained for and he scraps his plan and sets a new plan in motion to win her heart.

When the inevitable happens and Phillip has to return to court, he wants to have Alessia by his side. There is only one issue, he hasn't told her he's a Crown Prince...
_____

Reading this book I wanted to be transported to this Italian village and work in Alessia's grandfather's restaurant. I wanted to walk the cobblestone streets hand and hand with someone I love and kiss in secluded alleyways.

This book is atmospheric to the highest degree and the love story is so tender that I wanted to just gather up the whole cast of charming characters (and there are a lot of charming characters here) and give them a good squeeze☺️.

The through line of love being about choosing someone over and over and over again plucked my heart strings and proved to me once again that Emma St Clair can write any trope, even ones I don't normally love (royals), and I will devour it.

This is a closed door, kisses only rom com.

Thank you to the author for the gifted book. All opinions are my own.

I am obsessed with anything written by Emma St. Clair and this one is no exception! I loved it.

The story was sweet and funny. I loved how the relationship between Phillip and Alessia developed. I also really loved the side characters—the nonnos (grandpas) were hilarious and protective. There were several scenes with Phillip’s siblings that were just so fun.

I’m hoping we’ll see more of the royals in the future!

Thank you to the author for the complementary audio! The narrators were perfect.
