This was a book I never would have discovered myself, let alone buy it. But I'm so glad that it crossed my path! The box was in the bookboxclub from March and it totally lived up to the expectations. And maybe, it was even much better than the blurb on the back suggested.

The plot consisted of a very nice mix of history, dystopia, science, heist and a tight little bit of romance. I have to admit that part of the science went straight over my head, but I assume without a doubt that it makes sense and was resourced properly, because the explanation of how everything worked and functioned was simply too detailed to be just made up.

But not just the plot worked great, the characters did too. They were interesting, layered and complicated. Not once did I get the idea that this was a good versus bad or black and white story, which was partly because the good guys make mistakes and the bad guys have redeeming qualities. And the lines between good and bad blur more and more the closer we get to the ending of the book.

The easy and flowing writing style, combined with the interesting character and on top of that a few very nice plottwists, make for a great first book and I personally really can't wait for the sequel.

I really think I should just give up on time travel plots.. I wish I could enjoy them but, it seems that the only time travel story I liked was Avengers Endgame. I have tried reading two other time travel books before this one and they all seem to drag.

2 star = meh, it’s ok.

I won’t read book two. This whole thing was, just....boring. I want to say convoluted but it’s not really the right word to capture it for me.

The best time to read a trilogy is after all three books are published

I’m giving this three stars only because it wasn’t 100% MY taste for a book. BUT I believe this is going to be a series so I can say I will be following it because of the way this book ended, I have to know what happens. I’d recommend this to anyone that likes YA books that have to do with the future, and maybe light romance. I can say I am excited for the next book!

I won a copy of this in a giveaway on Goodreads just before the world exploded.

It was tough to get into at first with so much going on but once I did, it just drug me in. I really enjoyed this and can’t wait to read the next one!

The series that began in 2019 is a recent addition to the Young Adult genre, and it's surprising that it isn't more popular. This series is unique from other YA novels I've read before, as it's filled with action, intrigue, a touch of romance, and an array of lovable characters. As you read through the books, you'll experience a range of emotions. I was so engrossed in the story that I found it impossible to put the book down.

The first book ends on a cliffhanger, but not so abruptly that it leaves you frustrated and confused. Instead, it leaves you with enough unanswered questions to make you want to jump right into the next book. The fact that this is a time travel book fascinated me, and I was impressed by how well the author tied the settings together. The characters weren't just reckless teenagers making one mistake after another; there was a certain amount of logic behind their actions, even if it was sometimes misguided, as is typical of YA novels.

I'm excited to delve into the next book and continue the journey with these characters. Overall, this series offers a refreshing take on the YA genre and is a must-read for anyone looking for a thrilling and engaging story.
