i loved this omg?! a fun friendship loving, slice of life graphic novel with black women at the centre. From the friendships to the banter, there is nothing i didn’t enjoy about this one. even though the story was quick and fast paced the author did a great job at allowing the reader to become invested in these women’s lives. And the art was so beautiful with such a vibrant colour palette.

It’s hard to pick a fave but Davene and Cookie have my absolute heart <3 I love all these girls and their friendships so much! Rowser and Smith did a fantastic job of taking a short slice of life story and including so much depth, backstory, and character development in a way that felt incredibly smooth and natural. The colours and art style are so stunning and every character felt so real and fleshed out, by the end, I could truly say that I know and understand these women. So worth the read!

Really 4.5 rating. My first graphic novel and it was a good read. I really enjoyed it. The graphics were beautiful and the story line was definitely relatable. The setting took place in NY my hometown which made it even better. A beautiful collection of stories around friendship and how they pull together for each other's trials.

I am so deeply in love with this comic. I wish it hadn't ended. There are so many little details from nearly falling asleep while getting your hair washed in a salon to doing nothing else on wash day that make the story feel so authentic and relatable. It's clear the book was born of love and the creators are telling a story inspired by their own experiences. The personalities of each character were so well developed in a few panels and it's clear that they love each other very much in their own unique and complicated ways.
