I don’t think it’s possible to get enough Maya and Kenny. They really are my favorites.

Kenny and Maya

I think this novella has to be my favorite out of the series. Kenny and Maya are still adorable and simultaneously steamy. For whatever reason I just love these two and would read anything that includes them. And now I want to know more about Rita I'm invested.

If you're looking for low (0) angst, this is your story. There's some tension, but between Maya and Kenny it's only the good kind. Maya is the most lovingly described fat character I've ever had the pleasure of reading. She is self assured, and Kenny is utterly besotted, and we get a fine example of how to write a romance without undue drama. As for the plot, I enjoyed it. Being a seasoned reader, I knew what would happen but still enjoyed learning what the characters learned.

At the end, in the 'Waves Awkwardly', our intrepid author links to an introduction to Caleb, who'll be in the next book. It's just long enough to leave you wanting more. Kat is sneaky like that.

I *love* this series. So much. And I adore Maya more than words can say. Kenny is just one big cinnamon roll, especially since being with Maya made him reconsider his priorities and took some of the edge off his career ambitions.

I love the Spy stories not only because they are lovely and steamy, but also because Katrina Jackson always, always manages to inject the right amount of secrecy, mystery and danger to make the stories that much more gripping. I can’t get enough of it. This one was fascinating for many reasons, not only because of the change of location, but also because Maya was suddenly in the middle of everything and not in the way they all had planned. To be honest I soak up every bit about all the side characters too, because I want  absolutely all of their stories as soon as possible. I don’t think I have ever loved a whole cast of a series that much, no matter if they have gotten their own books already or not.

I know some of the scenes and the action require a certain amount of suspension of disbelief, but I never struggle with that at all. It’s like I’m reading a better, happier and queerer and a lot less white version of James Bond and I love it with all my heart. I will continue to devour every book that will come out in this series and by Kat Jackson. Her books are just… everything that works for me wrapped up in the best packages possible.

My favorites Kenny and Maya return for a lovely Valentine's Day turned into sexy spy mission, with tons of lingerie!

Jackson can keep these novella length stories coming, please and thank you!
