When I got through the first chapter I thought this book was going to be a bit of a drag. The characters didn’t immediately draw me in and the author seemed to have a tendency to repeat themselves, which so early on seemed like a red flag

The rest of the book redeemed itself in a big way

The chapter finales were satisfying and pulled on the heart strings. The foreshadowing and character development surprised me, I liked the way that the next chapters contents had the groundwork done in the chapter prior. Normally that would be a bare minimum, but with only 4 chapters and a simpler story I was impressed with the way these characters lives became interwoven and connected. Overall an enjoyable read and I’ll definitely check out the sequels.

This was picked up on a whim and it was a lovely, cozy read.
Magical coffeeshop in which folks can visit the past under very strict and interesting rules.
Love the interconnectedness theme throughout the storylines of each chapter.
Because the stories continue to book 2, 3 and a final book 4 - I'm not calling out favorites just yet.
Read this if you wish to feel hugged and rejuvenated spirit.
