While in general a good book, I have a much harder time with this one due to the inconstancy of both hero and heroine, and the constant conflict that we rarely have a break from.
***
Really enjoyed this book, I wasn't sure after the first couple chapters how they could keep it going, but they managed to weave in a lot of intrigue that makes me want to continue the series. I do get pretty annoyed with the heroine's emotional back and forth, though.

I am LOVING this series

Buddy read with Sunny:D

Spoiler
Like we thought, America stayed in the end! But wow Maxon's dad is the worst. Ugh I'm so grateful my dad isn't like him - the way he treated his own son, the queen AND America is just completely repulsive *shudder* He was so much nicer in the prologue book.

I'm really glad things ended -at least for now- with Aspe! I've just had a grudge against Mr all-I-want-to-do-is-make-out from the start... Like even the way he kissed her by force to try and force her to love him - ugh!

I feel really sorry for Maxon - both by how he's treated by his father and also how he doesn't have anyone's full trust... at least now America's trying to acc win the competition...

Can't wait to get to the the next book!

Ugh this one makes me angry while reading because America makes so many dumb decisions, but even so, everyone else makes me mad too because they are so hostile to her. Also, I cannot stand Aspen and the whole love triangle. Sure, Maxon has his flaws, but America is dumb as hell for risking her relationship with him for an insecure and manipulative boy who dumped her. Obviously I still ate this one up and flew through it, but the first book is better.
