The second of this book was so intense I literally read the last 10 pages in the bookstore. Definitely a must own for teens and people with an interest in magic and the tarot cards.
I enjoyed this book a lot, although I wasn't that fond of Jackson. He could be a real jerk, sometimes. The science so far hasn't really been explained, And how Evie holds onto social constructs, even though society has fallen. I definitely want to read the sequel, though!

like if all the water evaporated on the earth and it stopped raining, how is the atmosphere still breathable for the survivors? I don't think all the water was evaporated, though.
I wanted to like this one, but it was a painful read. Evie is spoiled brat princess for far too long into the book.
4.5 stelle. La Cole lo ha fatto ancora, nonostante il (grosso!) difetto di essere un YA, questo libro é davvero bello e originale, mi ha preso molto. Si riconferma come una delle mie autrici preferite
Kresley Cole never disappoints. I didn't know what to expect from her first YA novel, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it. I did miss the heat, but the chemistry between Evie and Jack was perfect.
I'm surprised at how excited I am for the next one to come out. Well done.

Solid 4.5. I love a good post-apocalyptic dystopian novel. Don't be fooled by the cheesy cover. This story was awesome.
Ok, this book is weird. Basically this girl finds herself in a house and is then telling someone the story of how she got there. I probably would have given this book a two until the last twenty pages... Something about how the author wrapped up the book and then let it rip at the same time was mesmerizing. But I wasn't even going to think about reading the next one because the heroine was such a weakling, hated herself, didn't want to be with the guy of her dreams only to get jealous when another girl is with him... so basically it was a weird book in all. Not to mention the fact that it was all based off of tarot cards... but anyway it was ok until the end when it really picked up.
Amazing!!! I read this when it first came out, and have been waiting for year for the last book in the series! Cole is an amazing author that brings characters to life. You won't be able to out this book down! I honestly re-read this book/series once a year it’s such a great series!
This book. THIS BOOK!
If it wasn’t the over dramatic intensity between Jackson and Evie that crackles with electricity then it was how beautifully, decimatingly waythe book was written. I couldn’t put it down. Been daydreaming about the next book.
Crossing my fingers in hopes it’s just as good or even better.
