You can never go wrong with a Shaun Tan picture book; I absolutely adore his allegories, especially in the one this time about hard work in an industry that doesn't know how to appreciate it.

'Cicada' is a visual masterpiece that clearly and articulately describes the experience of working in an environment as a minority. I continue to be stunned by the beauty, complexity, and clarity of Tan's work. It is beyond impressive, his ability to create works that can so deeply speak to kids and adults alike and with such high quality of craftsmanship. I would highly recommend this book.
