I could not put this book down. While the story is, at times, hard to read, Mottley’s voice and ability to bring a complex character to life is incredibly powerful. This book tells a necessary story about the violence and harm perpetrated on Black girls engaged in sex work - and Black girls and women more broadly. Highly recommend this book - you will find yourself rooting for Kiara and her loved ones the whole way through.
