robin wall kimmerer’s books are such a gift. she is such a insightful weaver of words, and reading her books feels like spending time with the most comforting, kind, intuitive and curious person you know. i had just finished “entangled life,” another book mostly about mosses / fungi by merlin sheldrake, when i read this and it’s so curious how two ppl can set out to write about moss and have basically no overlap. they both tell it thru their interests and references, their relationships to moss being individual. both are worth reading but this one, i liked more tbh bc i just like this one best as robin feels like a dear friend in how she writes and relates.

I liked reading about moss but I grew less appreciative of her philosphical musings over time--partially a casualty of having read this over the period of a year and pondering it more, but also, certain claims of hers are far less enlightened than she thinks
