This book was odd - it's supposed to be a memoir of sorts but it reads more like a thriller novel. I find it odd that this person chose to exploit her cases like this even though she changed the names... and the story comes off as made up - and that's only because the teacher comes off as a magic miracle worker. The kid hasn't been able to talk for years... but as soon as this teacher enters her life she starts speaking the same day they meet despite multiple other people trying for years- and yes, I know that kids can take years to find that special person they trust and open up to- but the story still sounds faretched- and it was a little bit too long with weird pay out because the ending feels ... odd and like it's not really fitting. We never really learn what happened to this little girl and what was real and what was not since the investigation is still ongoing- but all in all I feel that this book shouldn't have been written.

I have read this book 3 times now. Probably 10 years since in read it last but decided to read it again. It is truly a real page turner and i was as hooked now as 10 years ago! I Do feel like we are left wondering a lot. Chapters ending with a lot of question and they Do make you want to contuinue reading and can't decide if this a 100% good thing and that's why it isn't a 5 ⭐ but very close

Loved this book. So much psychology in it. Non fiction.

Very chilling. Not so much an enjoyable story, but captivating. It's quite difficult to read at times, but overall a satisfying read.
