Really enjoyed this book, it follows nicely on from the first book but can be read as a standalone. Looking forward to starting the third in the series.

I had this on audiobook for the gym.  I'd read the first in the series and I wanted something fairly light that I wouldn't have to focus on too much and thought this would fit the bill. I guess it did but I'm not going to bother with any of the others. It dragged and meandered and I wasn't invested in any of the characters or the mystery of who had died and who had killed them. I found it fairly twee as well. The recurring joke is the juxtaposition of middle class, middle England with crime and espionage, "let's have a cream tea and talk about the mafia. Oh dear, we've got raspberry jam which is almost as annoying as the gun violence"  it got tired pretty quickly!

Fun cosy murder mystery. A little far fetched at times. I enjoyed all the little modern day culture references and the fact that there were a few intertwined stories that left me guessing for a while.

Another book club pick I enjoyed lol

I loved this book better than the first one. Especially once we got towards the end as everything came to a head and there were a lot of twists and turns. Can’t wait to read the next two books :)

I kept waffling between whether I wanted to rate this book a 4 or 4.5 star because it doesn’t have the same amount of depth I usually would require for a 4.5 star book, but it was just so enjoyable that I think it deserves the higher rating.
Most readers are used to a slightly disappointing sequel, but I shocked myself by loving this book more than the first Thursday Murder Club book. I loved the higher stakes, added action/danger, and more complicated plot. Our favorite octogenarian cast is back and better than ever - every character is crafted so lovingly and it’s so easy to fall into their lives and their happenings in this wonderfully organized cozy suspense/murder mystery. There was lovely witty banter as always, and plenty of genuine heartwarming moments along the way. I keep devouring these books and won’t know what I will do when I have to wait for a new one. I hope that all the Thursday Murder club books will be this good, because what an absolute delight. Highly recommend to anyone who loves a good murder mystery but doesn’t want to be kept awake staring at their ceiling in the dark!

The characters felt well fleshed out. There were a lot of them, but the author handled it well. I actually enjoyed this better than the first book.

About the Finnish translation & audiobook: Mun mielestä käännös oli hyvin onnistunut, ei ainakaan kuulostanut tönköltä. Toimi hyvin äänikirjana. Lukijalla oli kyllä aika unettava ääni :D

Just as enjoyable as the first one. Sure, there are a few plot holes but the characters are incredibly charming, the stakes always feel real, and it's written well. Another perfect cosy mystery.
