Starting this second story in the Thursday Murder Club series was like sitting down for dinner with old friends and catching up on all their crazy life stories that you missed during your time apart – I loved it just as much as the first novel. The murder mystery intertwines itself with humour, friendships, love, and pain. Yet, it never loses charm, appeal or the moral of the story.
I cannot wait to read the third and fourth instalments of this series and catch back up with the Thursday Murder Club!

I really enjoy this series, it's funny, poignant and the murder mystery has me guessing until the end. The stand-out part of this book, that stops it from being another cosy Christie-esque mystery, is the heart - you really connect to the 4 residents of Coopers Chase retirement village. In this story, you learn a little more about Elizabeth's past but my favourite part was understanding Ibrahim more. Plus, some bad guys got what was coming to them!

Wow. I really was blown away again! Richard Osman nailed it once again. I loved the exploration of the characters. They are all so real! I especially loved the exploration of Ibrahim. All the characters are complex, but especially Ib. I loved the humor, and I also loved the emotional, quieter moments from the characters.

The "bad guys" were believable while still fitting with the lighthearted tone of the story overall. I really enjoyed this one, and I'm definitely looking forward to The Bullet That Missed!
