Ah, I could easily have spent a whole series in this world, I feel like we just scratched the surface of it! I loved the story: unionizing dolphins, management cats, all the double and triple crossing… it’s just loads of fun!

Charlie was a great MC too - he added such an authentic and human tone to what’s a pretty silly story. I especially loved how much he loved his cats.

While I didn’t want this book to end, the ending was great: moving and satisfying.

Special thanks to my brother for the North American version of the book. This is possibly the best cover art I’ve ever seen.

While this book is technically a sci0fi book, to me it was more of a comedy. I laughed through a good portion of this book. There are some scenes in here that were truly absurd, like funeral arrangements with "Suck it motherfucker" engraved on the vase. The sci-fi elements were there, but they weren't overly technical. I would definitely recommend this book to others, even if they aren't sci-fi fans.

It really helped that I didn't know the plot of the story before I started reading because this way I could be surprised by it. It reminded me a bit of Douglas Adams: hapless idiot gets embroiled in silly plot, there is lots of double crossing and absurdity but in the end everything turns out alright. Sometimes hard to follow and definetly not all that believable, but funny enough to make up for it. The only thing that nagged me was the constant digs at substitute teachers. They performe an important service! Why is it that this is the soul crushing going nowhere job the hapless protagonist has to leave?
