I actually enjoyed more of this than my rating suggests; there were just some parts that were so uncomfortable, like when
Anthony wouldn’t let Kate wait a week to have sex
....I know the point is to show how passionately he feels for her, but "he just can't control himself u.u" comes across as immature rather than sexy; there are many more—and hotter—ways to express that. were we not taking out the worst parts of the era, like the hygiene?

I love the parallels between Kate and Anthony, and seeing them realize that they are not alone in their feelings. Also I am a complete sucker for the responsible types learning that they can do something for themselves, like...fall in love.

Julia Quinn can WRITE banter! Love the enemies to lovers plot points, but by the end I found the story a bit two-dimensional feeling. Overall, still a good read. :)

Netflix took an adorable, funny, angsty, and emotional marriage of inconvenience and made it into an annoying love triangle. Basically, I’m so happy I read the book!

I enjoyed this book thoroughly. more than the first for sure.
I was shocked by how different it was to the TV series. I would’ve loved if Netflix had made the season the same as the book. I like how the books focus solely on one sibling at a time rather than the series overlapping them.
there were a few times where I was thinking “just get to the point” or “hurry up” but I can’t really complain because it’s all so beautifully written.
very excited to read Benedict’s story next!
