Another great biography from the Little People, Big Dreams series! I like that they are adding in more male biographies, and my boys enjoyed this story. We ended our bedtime routine looking up a few Bowie songs referenced in the book so they could hear some of the songs. Vibrant imagery as always. I personally loved how the author points out that at times people confused David for a girl based on his dress, this opened a door for inclusive discussions amongst our bedtime routine.

Disclaimer, I personally was not familiar with David Bowie's life story prior to reading this short biography. Therefore, I can't attest to the accuracy of his life portrayal. I love this series, but I have noticed that some biographies fall a little short when covering uglier, yet important parts of a person's biography.

I am completely biased and I adore these books so much, they are bright, beautifully illustrated, a great introduction to children and adults about great people of our time. They teach in a fun and educational way, they quite often teach something new to those who are aware of the people too. I love David Bowie so this was one of my favourites so far. Always recommended for everyone

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

David Bowie taught us to be yourself and dream big

My wish was granted on Netgalley, but as always, all my opinions remain my own!

I have been wanting to read more muscian biographies and something like this makes it really accessible, fun and kid friendly. I like the concept of these type of books coming out of late, like the bedtime stories for rebel girls, this is reminding me of that.
I loved that at the back, it wrapped up basically what the book said but more in a straight forward, factual way.
I loved the colours and illustrations and wording of the text. It was a lovely quick snippet into the life of a legend, perfect for children to absorb (both in the vivid colours and the easy text), but I just wish it was longer. If it had been it would totally be something I'd consider collecting (I am still tempted but can't justify how short it is for the price, which still isn't as expensive as I had thought, but still something I'm processing).

Pick it up, give it a go and enjoy! >(^_^)<

This is okay, but if someone punched me in the face so hard that my eye permanently changed color, I would expect my biographer to cover that issue with a lot more sensitivity and not just make it sound like a cool look.

I didn’t really learn anything except how one of David Bowie’s eyes became permanently dilated.

I own about 25 David Bowie albums so I am somewhat of a fan and this was a great little introduction into his life.
Again it avoided his death, and they should mention it, kids need to be told about death as much as they are about life.
Anyway still a great read.

While this children’s book, David Bowie (Little People, BIG DREAMS), written by Isabel Sanchez Vegara and illustrated by Ana Albero, is short, it is big on message, and rightly so as the subject is David Bowie.

This brightly colored biography tells about David Bowie’s dreams and how he intended to do big things and his attraction to music. The wonderful message is that not only should you follow your dreams but be yourself as you do so.

I think this would be a great read for children who will learn about Bowie and may also feel inspired to follow their own big dreams.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. In addition to having a better understanding of David Bowie's story, the way it is written is very cared for and loved, passing on a message to the children that they can follow their dreams.
Also, the illustrations are very beautiful, and just make the book better!

This new addition to the Little People, Big Dreams series is one you should definitely buy for your little readers. It is very cute with beautiful illustrations and tells the story of David Bowie.
It is perfect for young readers and can offer children inspiring messages. The whole series is very empowering.
I wish this kind of books existed when I was a child.
