So cute! Such a great little intro to an amazing musician

I'm conflicted...
The drawings were appropriate for children, and very well done. However, I don't feel like they adequately represented Bowie's iconic personality on stage. I did appreciate many of the references to songs such as "Rebel Rebel" and I am glad to see more modern children's books about relevant cultural icons that were different than the norm. Even though it is a children's book, I feel like there should have been more text about his career, but the timeline page at the end was exquisite.

I can’t pinpoint why, but I didn’t enjoy this book quite as much as I did the others in this series.
Part of it might’ve been the art style, which I didn’t love this time. It wasn’t bad, just... meh.
Or maybe it was because the “storyline” was so vague.
I really don’t know...

This very colourful book is not so much about the personal history of David Bowie but what an unique person he was, and how his fame and weirdness in public spoke to other people and inspired them to do their own thing.

There is a rundown of his most famous customes, and of course, Ziggy Stardust is depicted.
A fun book if you want to share your favourite musician with your little ones while they may be still to small to understand the lyrics.

This Little People, Big World series is outstanding! I have seen a few Littens on Litsy reviewing these books, and I simply knew I had to check them out. The books are short, sweet, and beautifully illustrated. They are colorful, and exciting and they make learning fun for young children. I love that they're covering all sorts of celebrities, and famous influential people. Musicians, artists, writers, scientists, and more. I hope I can find the whole collection for my nieces and nephews... and maybe one or two of my favourites for myself.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly appreciate it!

I have read a couple of books from the series 'Little People, Big Dreams and think they are the perfect read for both children and adults. This book focuses on David Bowie and gives a simple and easy-to-follow overview of his life as a musician and icon. The timeline at the back of the book is interesting and gives a little more detail about David's life, ideal for older readers. The illustrations complement the text perfectly and encapsulate David's unique personality. The message encourages readers to embrace their individuality and never be afraid or embarrassed of who you are. It's an incredibly important message, especially for children growing up in a world that is gradually becoming more accepting but where prejudice's are still widespread. This book takes a global idol and shows children that being different is nothing to be ashamed of. I loved this book and believe it holds a message that should be ingrained in children and adults alike.

It's David Bowie for kids. How can you not want to read this or look at the amazing illustrations?!
Tells you not to be afraid to be yourself.

Yet another lovely book from this collection. Gorgeously illustrated story of the famed musician. Nice to see another male subject added to this series. Can't wait to see what they come out with next.

This book introduced me to David Bowie. This series may be targeted for children, but it can also please a grown-up reader and make them get intrigued about the titular person. I loved how the book highlights that it is okay to be different. That is a very valuable message for children (and adults). The only thing I felt missing in this book was some footnote on what songs were being referenced.

Note - I received a free digital copy of the book from the publisher. This has not influenced my review in any way.

Read this book at a friend's birthday party as she got it for a birthday gift. Adore the artwork style and the simple yet magical way she describes Bowie and his uniqueness and impact on the music industry. Would love the last page spread as a poster. Eager to buy this for myself.
