While I love thrillers, I find that it’s a widely inconsistent genre for me. While I generally like the literary, historical, and young adult fiction I read, the thrillers I pick are just all over place in quality. So I wasn’t sure what I would think when I went for a young adult thriller. And I think “...Eh, it was ok. I liked it.”
So the plot: Two cheerleaders died in a car accident, two were murdered and one committed suicide. Years later, there’s no more cheerleading squad and the sister of one of the cheerleaders is looking into what really happened.
I find thrillers hard to review in general. Did it have plot twists? Yes. Did it have a crazy ending that somehow made some kind of sense? Yes. Is it plot hole free? No. Well, having two out of three of my requirements for a great thriller is decent.
But yea, there’s a massive plot hole and it revolves around the murder of the two cheerleaders. The murderer was shot by the stepdad of the main character and the case seemed to be closed since the murderer sure made it sound like he did it. But of course, he didn’t. (If you think that’s a spoiler...have you ever read a thriller? The murderer is never the person you’re told is the murderer in the first couple of chapters. It’s like on House - it’s never lupus.) So at the end when they do find out who killed those two girls, the fact that the police killed an innocent man is never addressed. Who was this guy? Why did he imply that he did kill them?
Anyway, major plot hole aside, I liked it. 3 out of 5 stars!

I cannot believe Ginny's backstory! I feel so bad for her and her ma. And i feel bad for poor Monica, like she doesn't realise that Brandon r#ped her no matter what her intentions were. And ETHAN! Where do i start with Ethan. I hope Brandon is charged for the murders.
