I enjoyed this book but it has a very different tone from book 1. I really enjoyed how unsettling book one was because you didn't understand what was going on or who could be trusted but in this book we are instead concerned more with the conflict between the people of Jai and the angels.
I also found reading this book quite jarring after listening to book one on audio as it meant I had no concept of how the names of characters were spelt to an extent that sometimes I didn't immediately realise they were the same person!
