Good arranged marriage romance read.
Tori arrives at her 18th birthday expecting a present from her senator father, which turns out to not be college tuition money, but a husband. Stefan is, at first, a charming and sexy business man who sweeps her off her feet with promises of what she can get out of this mutually beneficial marriage. However, the minute they're married, the charming act disappears and a cold and dark man is left in his place.
Tori realises that she is going to have to push Stefan to bring out the thoughtful, kind side she knows he has.
My only problem with this book was how naive and innocent Tori was, it was almost childish. I know that was her age, but she really didn't understand things and reacted in an almost spoilt way.
This book also ends on a cliffhanger, which was not warned, so slightly frustrating when I reached the end.
I will probably read the next book, as I am intrigued as to where the story goes next.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Listened to it on accident, thinking it was the Elle Kennedy book. It was hilariously bad. One of the worst inner monologues that I have ever read. I literally kept thinking 'please, kill me'. This book has a horrible case of 'I'm not like other girls', it reads like this: I was wearing a silver dress, I looked like a goddess in it, not that I cared... Also: Other girls had spent their summer partying, I on the other hand, wanted an education. Also: my virgin body couldn't wait to be ravaged by him lmao stopppp. Also purity culture is gross. Anyways, read this book if you want insufferable characters, being trapped inside the mind of a 14 year old girl writing fanfiction, and no actual plot.

I knew it! I could tell already what that family business was about. This isn't usually my deal so let me see if book 2 is any better.

I read this to just have a fun read of another romance novel, and I mean it was a romance novel but I by no means had any real fun. It was just a lot of sex and no character or story development and I just spend the whole 200+ pages feeling bad for this girl and wanting to kick her husbands ass because he is a straight-up pain. I am glad I read this on my kindle because I didn't have to pay money for this if I had to pay money I think I would have been more upset. I do not recommend it. If you want to read something with substance and still has sex appeal I would go more towards Wallbanger by Alice Clayton or any of the books from the Girl Meets Duke series by Tessa Dare.
