this was really good and very interesting but a bit slow at times, im not judging too harshly because usually the first book in a fantasy series is boring af and this kept me very intrigued and entertained and its definitely set up for the next book very well

Fun! It was cute. Definitely reads for a younger audience than some of her other works, but I expected that - she wrote this as a teen, after all. It was fun to see the seeds of certain ideas/worldbuilding things that come up in later works.

If the Supreme Leader Brittany Broski tells you to read Throne of Glass you read Throne of Glass.

This reminded me a lot of the Hunger Games with the training of champions and competition. Not as good to me personally but I did like it. I got a bit confused with some of the world building so hopefully I catch on more as we go.

This was my first SJM and I will continue.

The pacing started out slow but did get faster as the story went on. I have mixed feelings about some of the main characters, but I think they’ll grow on me. I also predicted one of the plot points early on in relation to the tournament and players being eliminated. Still it was fun to see how that plot point was revealed.

Was a decent book for the first in a series.
