Ava and the Little Folk is the first traditional Inuit story I have read about the tiny people inhabiting the Arctic (even though I was aware of their existence from other collections I have read), and I am definitely glad I finally got to it. Ava is such a sweet character, and it is wonderful to see himself become at home with the little folk. The illustrations were cute and unique.

This story could easily be read to a smaller child, but would still be a fun read for slightly older kids as well, with more words per page than the average picture book. I look forward to reading more about the Inugarulligaarjuit in the future.
