Reading about the harsh reality of being bullied, hit me. It's not for everyone this book, that's for sure. But it's beautifully written and idk how Mieko Kawakami does this everytime. Really amazing!

Trigger warning: Heavy and graphic bullying.

"The pain was receding, easier to handle by the day, but it felt like my spirits were never going to lift, no matter how long I waited for change."

I felt infuriatingly powerless as I read and my blood boils.
Two students, outcast because they are different from the rest, found solace and friendship with each other. 
Quite an emotional read, although I can't be certain about how I feel on the ending.

Ya lo dijo Sartre: «El infierno son los otros». En este libro somos testigos del infierno que vive el protagonista cada día solo por ser bizco.

Sin embargo, entre tanto sufrimiento, también hay esperanza. El infierno son los otros, pero también pueden ser el cielo. No tiene sentido vivir sin saber apreciar la belleza de las cosas más sencillas.

El libro te deja un regusto esperanzador después de estar machacándote psicológicamente durante 160 páginas. Y, mira, yo decido quedarme con eso.
