Although I’m still mad at Leah, and the ending is open-ended, this book is filled with realistic, loveable characters, great gore, great action, and a message of fighting for your community.

This novel is silly and a bit convoluted, but the author does not try to make the narrative seem anything other than silly and a bit convoluted. I'm not mad about it, but I wouldn't say that this is a favorite.

Well-executed zombie story that still feels fresh and says ACAB and no corporatization of pride with its full chest. Amen. Gory, but takes the violence seriously on an emotional level, which I always appreciate. Found the “twist” predictable and thought some of the Reveals were overstated, but overall enjoyed the themes of queer solidarity and found family. Sunshine… call me.

If you liked Pet by Alwaeke Emezi, this felt like a lighter, less developed version. If you go in knowing that this has less development and is just a quick read you’ll like it.
