I'm going to be so honest, I loved Tuhlulah and Burgess much more than Josephine and Wells. I also preferred hockey to golf BUT I liked the spice in Fangirl Down more šŸ˜œ all that being said, I loved this book & wasn't prepared for Tuhlulah's heavy storyline. This book didn't drag like I felt Fangirl Down did and I was hooked the whole time. I also really enjoyed the side characters, Chloe, Sig & Lissa. I wish these audios were dual but I think Callie Dalton did a really great job regardless!

I had a smile on my face 95% of the time I was reading this book. The plot, the characters, everything was amazing. I didn't go into this book with high hopes since my first Tessa Bailey read was a dnf. I was pleasantly surprised.

The dirty talk was so good, but also the emotional connection between the characters during spicy scenes was evident as well. I appreciated the longer scenes too, I feel like that helped to drive home that connection.

I also loved being able to know the inner monologue of both characters at the same time. I have a preference for first person (albeit not a strong preference), but to be honest, the writing was so good that I didn't even give a second thought to it being written in third person.

I didn't read the first book in this series but I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything by not reading it. Maybe I will go back and read that. I really, really want to dive into Sig and Chloe's story - I will be anxiously awaiting the release date.

Meh. If you want lighthearted eroticaā€¦ it was mostly just that. The FMCā€™s trauma kinda felt over the top. An intense story (see trigger warnings) that felt unnecessary and dropped into the story very suddenly. If it had been revealed gradually and if more context had been provided, maybe? But mostly I was confused why I was getting so much detail about people who werenā€™t in the story at all. And it was so intenseā€¦ for two paragraphs.. and then just back to sex.

I fear I may have moved on from my Tessa Bailey era... okay, mostly kidding. I never really had one but her books used to make me feel a lot more giddy and a little lessā€¦ uncomfortable. Like, they are still a good time but the dialogue is starting to make me cringe. Donā€™t get me wrong, if get get another book in the series about Chloe and her step bro? Iā€™m definitely in. But, overall, this didnā€™t have a lot of depth for meā€¦ I think it was supposed to but something missed the mark.

I hated both of their names and his daughter was on my last nerve. Single dads are usually just šŸ¤ŒšŸ¼ but not this time. Not to mention, Iā€™d rather have had the miscommunication trope than whatever that wasā€¦ dude was just acting like a straight up dick šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

But, I didnā€™t have a terrible time and really we are just here for some enjoyment and smutty entertainment some days, right? Soā€¦ mission close to accomplished. It had its moments, anyway. This review is deceivingly negative and it wasnā€™t as bad as it sounds. I actually enjoyed most of this book. I just remember all of things I didnā€™t like EXTRA well.

Tropes:
Workplace romance
Single dad/nanny
Age gap (11 years)
Grumpy x Sunshine

Spice: šŸŒ¶ļøšŸŒ¶ļøšŸŒ¶ļø

This book was thirsty. I think the characters grew on me the more I read, but there were definitely some spicy moments between our main characters. You have your adventurous FMC who has a traumatic incident and an over protective MMC. There really wasn't a ton of plot with this book other then, the growth between the two characters.

Probably not my favorite Tessa Bailey, but if you like some spice then this is for you.
