I really liked the [b:Until the End of the World|18586621|Until the End of the World (Until the End of the World, #1)|Sarah Lyons Fleming|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1380146803s/18586621.jpg|25598538] series. This book (and it's predecessor, [b:Mordacious|30367410|Mordacious (The City #1)|Sarah Lyons Fleming|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1465309129s/30367410.jpg|50879283]) are set in the same world and involve characters related to those in that series. I'm looking forward to the next installment. My only gripe is one I often have with post-apocalyptic novels; too much bad stuff happens! haha! But, seriously, at least not EVERY group of people they came across was evil! (I'm looking at you Walking Dead!)

It took me awhile to finish because it was long, but I liked this book. The characters really developed a lot in this one. Although the ending is pretty cliffhanger-y and there's no third book yet.

This book will break your heart... in the best (and worst) possible ways! SLF does such a great job of hooking you into the characters, into their relationships and connections. But this is the zombie apocalypse, and it's unrealistic to expect that all of those characters will survive.

I also appreciated that this book brings in the nastier human element of survival in the apocalypse, without resorting to the over-the-top misogynistic fantasies that so often pop up in post-apocalyptic lit written by men.

The audio is... terrible. I mean, the narrators are amazing, don't get me wrong, but the audio editing is so terrible as to be distracting. I think they did two versions of this. In the first, they went with a different narration type than they did in the first book -- having each narrator read all of the voices in their own chapters. Then perhaps they attempted to retreat back to the narration style of the first book (have each narrator read the dialogue of characters of their sex) but the editing let them down. Frequently lines are repeated (the female narrator reads them and then the male narrator reads them, or vice versa) or they miss a place where they should have edited in a male or female voice. It's awful, and i hope the author got some of her money back because I've rarely heard such an unprofessional narration editing job.

However, if you're reading this book, it's because you're already hooked, and you won't mind. After all, the narration is still good, so you'll suck it up and continue listening because you are already committed to loving Sylvie, Eric, Maria, Jorge, and all of their friends.

This was another great book; it had me on the edge of my seat at times. I really hate when we lose some of our favorite characters. But like a wise woman once told me they all can’t live in a zombie apocalypse ok, ok I know but why!!!
I am loving how fast pace these books are I don’t want them to end.

I am eager to find out what is going to happen.

I do love the narration from Luke Daniels & Therese Plummer who is a favorite of mine.

4.5 stars. I have NOT read the "End of the World" series ... started with this one. It's on KindleUnlimited. Audio is not included, but it is discounted, and I went ahead and paid the $2 to get audio. I liked the audio format here, with the female and male narrators, not just switching chapters, but voicing ALL the men/women (even when the other is doing the main narration). It's nice not to have voice confusion.

I'd liked the first book, and this picks up where the first one left off. I think maybe I liked this book more, as we are already totally set up in the situation, we care about the characters, etc ... no learning curve. 500+ pages, but it went quite quickly.

Like book one, I really enjoyed the continued "Word of the Day" ... I'm always attempting to highlight and look up the meaning of any words I don't really know, so there are a TON (there were even some that were just used in the author's writing, NOT in the competition between Sylvie and Eric ...like "hectoring" and "buildering" I thought "bouldering" which it is related to, but free climbing a building rather than boulders).

There were several spots where I would laugh out loud at the conversations between characters. This is in present tense ... which I dislike. I don't think I even realized it was though (just as I was looking back on the Kindle copy) and that is a sign of good writing. So often present tense seems so stilted and awkward, but it worked fine here.

Definitely going on, even though, 800+ pages for the next installment? Whew! And ... a little (a lot) sad at the loss of some characters :(

This would be rated MA ... lots of language (some hilarious), sexual situations and of course, tons of violence/gore.

This is a big book. 550 pages. And it's really very good in the same way that a dozen other Zombie Apocalypse books are very good.
5 Stars for the book, minus 1 Star because the ending has left me hanging.
