It had its moments, but man does this book drag sometimes. The description of the monsters were good, and there were definitely parts that were creepy/had me a bit on edge. But it really was a struggle to get through this book. I wanted to love this one so bad. Maybe I'm just too dumb to get fully invested into it and the scary stuff flew over my head. But it was just too long and too descriptive sometimes for my taste.

I’m really unsure how to put what I think about this book into words. I finished it, so obviously I didn’t hate it. It was scary and deeply unnerving. The cult bits were absolutely the best part, very interesting! I feel like the author spent a little too much time in our MC’s head. I definitely think the book could have been 100-150 pages shorter. There was a lot in there that just felt like bloat. Also the ending was….something alright. Overall I liked it, but I didn’t love it.

Very spooky read, although it was a bit on the long side- a lot of scene setting and exposition but otherwise very good
