I'm watching the new She-Ra right now, and I feel like that work drinks from the same stream as this. Except here, our hero is a green blob creature who wears a bow on her head. She's fierce. Fights demons and monsters. Has occasional interpersonal struggles.

It's fun! Shelved in the Juvenile Graphic Novels in my library.

This was such a mood booster for me. It was cute, funny, and I loved the illustrations. Also has brown character's, very much a plus!

I really really wanted to love this book, so I am a bit disappointed. While, I like two of the main characters, Hadiyah and Leo, I can't make myself like the "Great Warrior." With an artstyle akin to Bee and Puppycat and a fun array of characters, this book should have been funny and heartwarming. However the Great Warrior annoyed me, if anyone is a fan of Adventure Time, she is a lot like LSP. Which LSP is great in her own way, she's lazy & sassy, but because the story doesn't revolve around her this makes her lack of character development O.K. But, our great warrior makes up the bulk of the story, and is instantly loved by everyone around her , but does nothing to make the reader like her. I need development and substance.

This may be a kid's book, so it can be argued you don't really need all that. But, I think it benefits kids to have a character that can be fun and teach them a couple of life lessons. This story was just a jumbled mess. And I feel like I am missing a big chunk of the story, because everyone knows each other and it's like they are in a three way conversation that has been going on for awhile and I just started listening in halfway.

I think there is plenty of potential here. There is plenty of room for Great Warrior to grow. It would also be nice to see more of Hadiyah and Leo, and see some of there past. I think if the story had revolved around either one of those two characters and let the Great Warrior be the main mascot, I would have been apt to like it better. I also enjoyed the very last extra panels. These showcased some funny mini stories. Because I could enjoy those mini stories like I did, leads me to believe that the main story was the first and foremost issue. The utter lack of background info and weird story movement made the characters unable to stand out and made the book a bit of a flop.
