I read Dungeon World 3 or 4 years ago and loved how innovated the system was, but never played it. I picked this up at some out of town game store (I always try to buy at least one thing to support the stores). I loved the old school art and it sounded kind of interesting.

I love the ambiance of the setting - a world in ruins. Many of the ideas were original, dark and cool. It has that doomy Mork Borg style without the amazingly crazy layout.

Couple of problems I had with it.

1) There aren't really "normal" people in it, most of the inhabitants are semi-mindless undead. No one eats or sleeps. The book didn't give any help about what it's like with no taverns, no entertainment, no political intrigue. There's really nothing to do except hunt monsters and try to save the world. Treasure if pretty much useless because there aren't any shops (or at least it doesn't seem like there would be any).

2) The book has a section where they talk about a bunch of cool stuff (creatures, artifacts etc...) and then in another section they talk about the same exact things, but in more detail. So chapters 3 and 4 are basically repeated in chapters 5-7. I'm sure of the logic of this, it seems like it should have all been put in one place instead of having to refer to two different sections to learn about something.
