Two brothers travel into zombie-infested lands in order to save who they love. But zombies are dangerous, especially if you don't know how to deal with them.
I really enjoy dystopian books and I would classify this as one of them. This book was very interesting. The characters are extremely compelling and the world-building was amazing. I didn't totally enjoy the narrator because he was a teenage boy but it was written from a teenage boy's perspective. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

I read this book a while back and really enjoyed it, but since I have waited too long to pick up the second book, I don't think I am going to continue the series. I have noticed though that zombie are not really my genre. I did really like this one, but it seems like zombie apocalypse stories are always left on the loop of running and trying to survive which is cool and all, but gets tiring, if that is all the book has to offer. I would still recommend this book though and am glad I decided to read it.
Started off strong but I never felt a strong connection to most of the characters besides the artist and Tom. I don't think I will pickup the second book.
I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I thought it would be more of a basic Zombie book. I found it to be more of a story about brothers with a back drop of a zombie apocalypse. I enjoyed the story line of brothers learning to become friends.

I really didn't like this book. It was just an average zombie book but it took me a long time to read because i got bored of the story easily. I thought that the entire book was just not as good as it could have been. However, there was action and a few plot twists which i thought was good.

Primarily following Benny's perspective as a teenager finding his place in a challenging post-apocalyptic world, Rot & Ruin definitely feels like a foundational book; it focuses primarily on introducing the setting and characters that will be integral to the future plot which was hinted at throughout the novel and ultimately clarified in the final pages.
Numerous classic bildungsroman themes formed the foundation of this chapter in Benny's story, and I expect that Benny's maturation will be one of the key aspects of the series. I enjoyed seeing Benny grow as an individual and seeing his relationships grow with him. The development of his friendship and relationship with his (much) older brother Tom, which had been somewhat strained throughout his childhood, was genuinely rewarding. Whilst this was a little slow-paced for my liking, it's a good take on the genre and interesting start to a series that I do wish to pursue further.

DNF. Promised my friend (who recommended it to me) that I would read at least 50 pages, so I did. And I hated it. It was badly written, and I was just so bored. Nothing happened, and I'm not a fan of slow-paced books. I could not make myself care about any of the characters at all.
Loved it! Once I read it I was instantly hooked and was off on my search for the next one!
