TLDR - Julian =, Daisy !!!, Christian !!!, Magnolia ..!

I feel that as I read these, the shtick just keeps wearing off. Miscommunication, Magnolia Parks obsession, blah blah blah. Daisy & Christian were the saving grace here. A few things that stood out…

First, I retract my Julian hate from MPU2. He’s back to even ground for me … loving Magnolia Parks doesn’t make you a saint, so we’ll see if he can really get back to my good graces in MPU5. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s sweet and one of the best characters in this series but it STILL doesn’t excuse breaking Daisy’s rules IMO.

Second, Daisy is far and away my favorite character in this whole series. I vibe hardcore with her, and she fills such a void that I don’t think I could read the MPU if she wasn’t there. Her & Christian are the saving grace of this series.

Third, we really find out in this one how unreliable of a narrator Magnolia is. I know she is kept in the dark on some things but MAN is there a lot of dialogue we didn’t hear in MPU3! Girl is in MAJOR denial!!!!!! Every Daisy Haites book makes her more bearable so I am anticipating my Magnolia-hating streak to come back in full force in MPU5.

Overall, this book was much better and more entertaining throughout than MPU3! I didn’t love that there wasn’t resolution of the cliffhanger from book 3, but I did enjoy the differing perspectives of the same events.

ISTG I took so long to read this bc I just wanted to stay in Julian Haites’ mind for eternity.
My GODDDDDD everyone’s POV’s absolutely D-E-S-T-R-O-Y-E-D me.
Julian? My man my man my mannn….. plz… from the moment I knew he was the head Gang lord, I knew he was going to be my favorite.
The way he’s so sweet and gentle with (ykw-no spoilers here) yet portrays himself to be big and bad to others? Bye. My mans.
And Christian?! JFC…. I’ll take three tickets to Paris please and thank you.
Daisy of course hits all the marks bc she’s well, Daisy.
I’m so sad that I have to wait God knows how long until I get to be in their brains again….

I bought all the books on audio just so I can listen to them alllll over again while I work. Re reads/listens are scared of ME atp.

Just stab me in the heart for Julian!! He is such a lovable, tragic character. His relationship with magnolia from his POV was just as gut wrenching as I expected. I love reading Daisy as a character and her and Christian’s relationship. The narrative style is so realistic it’s hard not to get so invested. It’s like reading actual thoughts and emotions as they go through a  person’s head.
