It was fine but there was literally zero conflict or tension. It felt like 400+ pages of just people saying nice and loving things about each other. DNF’ed at 70%
I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this book. can’t wait to read more by this author.

This was such a fun and flirty book. This follows some actual adult characters which is such a breath of fresh air. Shawn and Lacey are BFFs. She’s a pediatrician and he’s the head coach of DC’s football team. She’s trying to get back into the dating game and ends up taking her date to a game. Turns out he’s not a fan of the kiss cam and the operator will not give it up-how embarrassing. In a quick turn of events, the coach steps in. To save face with everyone, they fake date. It’s all fun until real feelings emerge.

The fake dating trope is almost always an automatic yes for me, Chelsea has set a beautiful bar with Caught on Camera. The friendship that she created between Shawn & Lacey was absolutely beautiful. There's such a mutual respect and adoration for each other (while having nothing to do with how much money they make) that this whole book could have been about their friendship and I would have been equally in love.
But it's not and what a gift it is.

Lacey was a strong character who knew who she was and they worked together so well. If you love sports romance with fake dating this book is for you.
