1/4/23: DNF at 11% - I tried with the audiobook but I’m just hating it, I’m so sorry. I will try to pick up a physical copy and see if I like it better.

Update 4/17/23:
I am SO glad I gave this one a shot! It’s so fun and sexy but also relatable and inclusive. The main protagonist is chronically ill and not “traditionally” pretty/thin (ie western beauty standards) but neither of those things are the focus- they just are. And a love interest who just gets it and is a human about it? The bar is on the floor, ladies, I know. But that’s sexy and hell.

Also, side notes: I’m not sure why but I thought (perhaps some mixture of the title and cover art? Idk) and it is NOT. this book is spicy as hell. 🥵
Take my audiobook sensitivities with a grain of salt but I actually believe this audiobook is legit horrible so just skip that and read the book/ebook

I could not even BEGIN to express how much I love this book. Chloe is such a sweet, cute character, and oh my GOD Redford Morgan may be the sexiest romcom love interest I have EVER read. I’m always wary of interracial romances involving white people but Red somehow managed to be the One True Cishet Sble-Bodied White Man and I loved him endlessly. He’s sweet and wonderful but also just dangerous and edgy enough to be really REALLY sexy. I found Chloe so relatable and I loved the descriptions of her as a grump so fucking funny. As a disabled person myself, her independent streak really resonated with me. The way she makes deals to make sure she’s not dependent on anyone outside her immediate family, and her growth toward letting friends in (and boyfriends). Also her sense of style is adorable. Much as I love Red I do picture the two of them as that Barbie/Lego man meme. It’s what’s on the inside that counts I suppose. I’m really just rambling at this point but please know I am rereading my favorite parts and I have no complaints about this book whatsoever. What an absolutely perfect book.

I would be remiss not to mention that I read this as an audiobook and the audio performer fucking BODIED this book. They changed readers for the next two books and I am delaying starting the next one for precisely that reason. The way she managed to make Red and Chloe sound so different that I was completely immersed immediately. Also her voice for Red? Fucking SEXYYYYY. 10/10.

I couldn’t get into this one. I think everything just took too long for me to get to. I will continue the series though.

Its fun. The spice may be over exaggerated, but this is a classic rom-com anyone can enjoy.

My God this book was EVERYTHING! Seriously if there was a book to ever give me imposter syndrome this book would be it! Funny, but so relatable especially Red and Chloe's character arcs. I absolutely plan on finishing the entire series!

The first straight romance I’ve read this year where I actually liked the male MC!!

This had a slow start but picked up really well and I ended up enjoying this immensely.

I loved the amazing representation for disability and plus sized people, it was written in such a way that is directly against the usual “disabled and/or plus sized are unattractive/sexually unavailable” way. And done so incredibly well! Be warned, it’s spicier than it seems like it would be. And I think this is done intentionally to show that, yes, these groups want/have/enjoy sex!

I was worried that the miscommunication trope would ruin this for me but actually it’s the most well-written example of this trope I’ve come across. It didn’t last very long and the MCs deal with it in a mature and realistic way.

Loved the characters and the writing!
