I guess the mangaka's art style has improved? I love this one more than soul eater. I'm still wary with the protagonist, he is just nice, but I'm more interested in other characters, especially the captain. 3 stars! gonna continue this series.

I really liked the idea of an action packed firefighting shonen manga but I found that everything about this manga was just basic. All the characters are really basic with stereotypes, tropes and character traits that didn't feel like they had very much originality or thought put into them. I felt like the main character's backstory and motivations were fine but his constant talk of being a hero reminded me too much of My Hero Academia and just pointed out how much stronger My Hero Academia is.

I really disliked the pervy bits, not only just because pervy bits are always gross but this time especially since it felt like Tamaki's only purpose in the manga was to be the butt of all of those jokes and sections.

I did like the idea of fighting fire with fire and will be looking forward to the tournament arc and I think the action will be really fun to watch. The mystery is interesting enough to keep me reading and I like that the characters aren't overpowered and still have ways to grow with their powers and fighting. I just wish that the author had taken some more time to create characters that were engaging and interesting. Even if they're pretty basic, adding some nuance and complexity in the characters would make this manga so much better.

Also can we PLEASE get some female characters that have actual depth and don't exist there to serve the male characters? The sexualization of the few women in the manga really bothers me and it adds nothing to the story.

Overall I don't love this manga, but I don't completely hate it. I'll check out the anime simply because I think the animation will portray the action and fight scenes better but I don't see this becoming one of my favorites. I understand why people like it, but it just has a lot of faults that I can't look past.
