Wow, I cried all through this one. It actually took me longer than usual to read this book because I had to step away from it a few times. But don't get me wrong, I loved it! Anytime I have to step away from a book because I feel too much, I know it's a book worth reading and recommending others to read.

DL Gallie brought me into the world of these characters and made me connect deeply with them. Penn and Tatum both fall in love, build beautiful love stories, and then lose it all to tragedy. Penn is left to raise his young son without his wife, while across the world Tatum is left alone when her fiancé dies to save her. When Penn and Tatum meet, they are in the throes of grief and aren't ready to let anyone else in or to risk losing again, but life keeps throwing them together, usually involving Penn's 5-year-old son Fletcher. Despite feelings of guilt and betrayal, Penn and Tatum both begin to wonder if maybe they can move forward and, if not love again, at least find some joy.

I am so incredibly grateful that I received an ARC of this book! I have been neck deep in dark romances lately and this was an incredibly refreshing palate cleanser! Even in the midst of getting my heart broken with my eyes and nose leaking weirdly I loved this book!
